Crispy shrimps in bao bread

How to prepare the recipe of Crispy shrimps in bao bread

Ingredients (for 4 people people)

  • 600 g raw shrimps
  • 2 tbsp. Chinese wine
  • 2 tbsp. grated ginger
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Corn flour
  • Sunflower oil for frying
  • Sliced garlic
  • Fresh coriander
  • Korean sauce
  • Toasted sesame
  • Bao bread (Chimei Gao-Bao)

 

To prepare the Korean sauce

  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp korean chilli paste (Gochijang)
  • 90 g of honey
  • 50 g of brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

 

Elaboration

  • In a bowl, mix the shrimps very well with the rest of the ingredients. Add cornflour and coat the shrimps. Dust the shrimps with flour and place them on a clean tray, removing the excess flour.
  • When it is time to prepare the shrimps, preheat the oil to 175ºC. Add the shrimps, little by little, and leave them in the oil for a couple of minutes.
  • Remove and place on kitchen blotting paper.

 

Preparation of the sauce:

  • Place all the ingredients for the Korean sauce on the heat. Bring to the boil, stirring constantly, then set aside.
  • Add the shrimps to the sauce and mix well.

 

FINAL AND PRESENTATION:

  • In a bamboo cooker, prepare the baos (2 minutes cooking time).
  • Fill the baos with the shrimps and add the finely chopped garlic and coriander. Finish with the toasted sesame seeds and enjoy! The less time the shrimps spend in the sauce, the crispier they will be!
