After 11 years of investment in R&D, we have successfully recreated the natural habitat of our prawns using an innovative, stable, and sustainable aquaculture system, unique in the world.

The application of our state-of-the-art microbial technology, with artificial saltwater, allows for the production of fresh, clean prawns in indoor facilities and in any location without the use of additives.

Full control over the production cycle

Having our own hatchery is key to controlling larval quality, harvest intervals, and predictable production results. Noray is the world’s first aquaculture company to breed prawns in 100% artificial saltwater.

Thanks to our super-intensive system, prawns grow from larvae to marketable size in 100-120 days. Our goal is to reduce grow-out time and improve biomass control through optimization measures. Strict adherence to our internal protocols is crucial for controlling the incubation, nursery, and grow-out phases.

With our sustainable production method, we have successfully addressed the challenges posed by the conventional industry: numerous diseases, the widespread use of additives and other chemicals, and other criticized practices.

In our indoor facilities we can guarantee a stable environment regardless of weather conditions, thus allowing us to produce and harvest year-round, supporting the local economy.

The success of our Technology

We have developed a set of feeding and parameter control protocols that replicate the best living and growth conditions for our prawns throughout the entire production cycle, using a stable and sustainable microbial technology system.

Therefore, Noray represents a significant advancement over traditional pond farming and RAS systems. The microbiome systems control water quality through a self-nitrification process without water exchange. The prawns use the microorganisms as an additional food source, increasing productivity and reducing the feed conversion ratio. Our indoor production, the use of artificial saltwater, and the application of strict biosecurity measures minimize the risk of disease.

Furthermore, our proprietary protocol system allows for the control of key water parameters such as oxygen, salinity, ammonia (NH3), bacteria, and floc levels. The result is the profitable production of pure, fresh, and additive-free prawns.
